Description

Short throw shifter kit for OE replacement on 5 speed manual trans in:

  • 1988-1990 Ford Ranger – except 2.9L V6

  • 1991-1994 Ford Ranger – all

  • 1988-1994 Ford Aerostar
  • 1991-1994 Ford Explorer
  • 1991-1994 Ford Explorer Sport
  • 1991-1994 Mazda Navajo
  • 1994 Mazda B-series pickup (North America)

    • ONLY FITS Mazda M5OD-R1 manual trans produced BEFORE 1995 – trans code M

      • Stock stub for this model has an overall length of 118mm w 70mm below gasket
        • IF your transmission has been serviced or changed, it MAY REQUIRE A DIFFERENT BASE. If you install the wrong one it will not work properly and could cause damage. To confirm, remove shifter stub and measure overall length

          • Does NOT FIT 2.9L V6, Bronco II, newer models, M5OD-R2, F-150, or any other model

          • IF YOU HAVE A 2 + BODY LIFT (frame spacers) – upgrade to stick #0090

            • Kit includes PLAIN chrome stick #4106, classic knob, base assembly, gasket, mounting hardware, dust cover boot, and installation instructions. Due to the tall factory console boot, a SuperBoot is suggested (optional upgrade, additional charge) – which can be fitted into the stock plastic trim plate. Throw is reduced by ~ 42%.               The base is built by Core Shifters using proven components inside a custom housing:

              • High-strength billet steel gear selector stub w induction hardened tip
              • Hardened steel cross-pin & glass-reinforced polyamide fulcrum pivot ring
              • Self-centering cross-gate bias springs with heat treated spring seats
              • CNC-machined billet aluminum housing with steel wear clips
              • Laser-cut steel lid
